As a part of the Student Induction Programme, the Department of English (Aided), G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, conducted interactive and engaging sessions for the newly admitted first-year undergraduate students (Batch 2025–2028) on the 4th and 5th days of the programme.

This session focused on introducing basic communication skills, particularly greetings and expressions used in everyday interactions. It was followed by an engaging brainstorming activity that encouraged student participation and spontaneous language use. The interactive tasks helped break the ice and created a comfortable environment for the students to use English with confidence.

            The sessions were well-received by the students, who appreciated the interactive format and learner-friendly approach. These efforts by the Department of English reflect its commitment to making “English for All” a practical reality by building students’ confidence and communication skills from day one of their college life.



















 

GVNC - International Day of Yoga Celebration – 20.06.2025

 G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, proudly celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 20th June 2025 with great enthusiasm and participation. The event aimed to promote physical and mental well-being through the ancient Indian practice of yoga.

Students, faculty, and staff gathered in unity to perform various yoga asanas and breathing exercises under the guidance of a certified yoga trainer. The session began with a brief introduction on the importance of yoga in daily life, followed by a series of warm-up exercises, postures, and meditation.

The programme not only highlighted the spiritual and health benefits of yoga but also encouraged participants to adopt it as a lifestyle practice for inner peace and holistic health. The celebration reflected the college’s commitment to nurturing wellness and mindfulness among students and staff.

GVNC - Department of Library (Aided) Library Orientation & Book Review Activity – 20.06.2025

The Department of Library (Aided) organized a Library Orientation and Book Review Activity for the first-year students at G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, on 20th June 2025 at 11:30 a.m. The session aimed to introduce students to the effective use of library resources, rules, and the importance of developing reading habits.

As part of the initiative, a Student Book Review Activity was also conducted, where students shared insightful reviews of the books they had read. The activity encouraged critical thinking, articulation, and peer engagement through literary discussion.
