Enriching Vocabulary, One Word at a Time – One Word One Day Forum at G.V.N. College started on 16.06.2025

At G.V.N. College, language learning takes an exciting and consistent turn through the vibrant initiative of the One Word One Day Forum — a daily vocabulary enrichment programme aimed at enhancing students’ language proficiency in a simple yet impactful way.

Every day, a new English word is introduced along with its meaning, usage in a sentence, and, where possible, its Tamil equivalent — making vocabulary learning both accessible and enjoyable for all.

This forum not only strengthens students’ command of the English language but also motivates them to use new words in daily conversations, academic writing, and presentations. It boosts their confidence, enhances communication skills, and nurtures a lifelong love for words.

Ms. Shankar of III B.Sc. IT coordinates the forum, while Dr. R. Saravana Selvakumar, Assistant Professor of English, serves as the convenor. Thanks to their dedicated efforts, the One Word One Day Forum continues to grow in popularity and impact — helping students build a rich and powerful vocabulary, one word at a time.
