The examinations will be conducted at the college campus, providing a convenient and well-equipped venue for distance education learners from Kovilpatti and the surrounding regions. The institution is fully prepared to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the examinations by providing the necessary infrastructure, seating arrangements, and examination facilities.

GVNC - NSS Units 51 & 52 Conduct Awareness Rally at Ayyaneri Village - 07.07.2026

NSS - Awareness Rally

The National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 51 & 52 of G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, organized an Awareness Rally at Ayyaneri Village as part of their extension and community outreach activities.

The rally aimed to educate the villagers on the importance of public health, personal hygiene, environmental cleanliness, social responsibility, and community welfare. Carrying placards and banners with awareness messages, the NSS volunteers marched through the village streets, spreading information and encouraging the public to adopt healthy and responsible lifestyle practices.

The enthusiastic participation of the volunteers reflected the NSS motto, "Not Me But You," emphasizing the spirit of selfless service and community engagement. The villagers appreciated the students' efforts in creating awareness on issues that contribute to the overall development and well-being of society.

The programme was organized under the guidance of the NSS Programme Officers Dr. Renuga Devi and Dr. Revathi with the support of the college management and Principal, who continuously encourage students to participate in extension activities that foster leadership, civic responsibility, and social commitment.

The awareness rally successfully strengthened the bond between the college and the local community while inspiring students to become responsible citizens dedicated to serving society.

The prestigious athletics meet witnessed enthusiastic participation from schools and colleges across the South Zone. Demonstrating exceptional talent, determination, and sportsmanship, the students of GVN College excelled in various track and field events, earning numerous medals and points that led the college to emerge as the Overall Champions.

Library Orientation Programme for First-Year Students

The Department of English (Aided), in association with the Department of Library (Aided), organized a Library Orientation Programme for the first-year undergraduate students on 25 June 2026. The programme aimed to familiarize newly admitted students with the college library, its resources, and the services available to support their academic learning and research.

During orientation, the students were guided through the various sections of the library, including the reference, lending, periodicals, journals, newspapers, digital resources, and departmental book collections. The library staff and the English Department faculty explained the library rules and regulations, membership procedures, book borrowing and return policies, and the effective use of the Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) for locating books and other learning resources.

Students were encouraged to develop regular reading habits and make optimum use of both print and digital resources to strengthen their academic knowledge and communication skills. They were also introduced to the importance of scholarly journals, reference materials, e-books, and online databases in enhancing classroom learning and preparing for competitive examinations.

As part of the orientation programme, the second-year English students presented an insightful book review, highlighting the significance of reading in academic and personal development. Their presentation encouraged first-year students to cultivate a regular reading habit and to make effective use of the rich resources available at the college library. They also shared their own experiences of how consistent library usage had enhanced their language proficiency, critical thinking, and subject knowledge. The programme was further enriched by the guidance and encouragement of the Department of English faculty, who motivated students to use the library as a centre for lifelong learning and skill development. The session inspired the newcomers to actively engage with the library and explore its vast collection of books, journals, and digital resources throughout their academic journey.

The orientation concluded with an interactive session in which students clarified their doubts about library facilities and services. The programme received an enthusiastic response from the participants, who expressed their appreciation for the informative and practical guidance provided.

As part of its continued commitment to enhancing campus infrastructure and promoting the well-being of students, G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous) inaugurated a new Girls’ Toilet Facility on 25 June 2026.

The inauguration ceremony was led by the Principal, who formally opened the facility by cutting the ceremonial ribbon in the presence of faculty members, administrative staff, and students. The newly constructed toilet block has been established to provide students with a clean, hygienic, safe, and comfortable environment, thereby improving campus amenities and supporting the health and dignity of women students.

Addressing the gathering, the Principal emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness and making responsible use of the facility. The initiative reflects the institution's dedication to creating a student-friendly campus and ensuring adequate infrastructure for the welfare of all learners.

International Day of Yoga Celebration 2026 - 23.06.2026

 The Department of Physical Education and the Yoga Club of G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, enthusiastically celebrated the International Day of Yoga with the inspiring theme "Yoga for Harmony & Peace."

The event witnessed the active participation of students, faculty members, and staff, who came together to practice various yoga asanas, breathing exercises, and meditation techniques. The session highlighted the importance of incorporating yoga into daily life to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, emotional balance, and inner peace.

The transition from school to college life marks a significant milestone in a student's academic and personal journey. To ensure a smooth transition and integrate incoming freshers into the institutional culture, the Department of English (Aided) organized a five-day comprehensive Student Induction Programme (SIP) for the I Year undergraduate batch of 2026–2029. Held at the College Main Auditorium, the programme was designed to move freshers away from rote school environments and introduce them to the institutional history, behavioral regulations, academic opportunities, and campus facilities of GVN College. The induction served as an interactive platform featuring peer networking, expert lectures, physical wellness, and foundational language training.
