District-Level Inter-School Mathematics Quiz Competition Organised by the PG and Research Department of Mathematics at GVN College, Kovilpatti

The PG and Research Department of Mathematics, G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, organised a District-Level Inter-School Mathematics Quiz Competition for students of Classes XI and XII. The event aimed to enhance students' mathematical knowledge, analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities while encouraging healthy academic competition among school students.
The competition was organised under the guidance of Mr. P. Mahendran, Secretary of the College. The programme was inaugurated by Dr. A. Pandiarani, Principal, GVN College, who encouraged the participants to develop their mathematical aptitude and intellectual curiosity.
Students from various higher secondary schools across Thoothukudi district enthusiastically participated in the competition. A total of 24 teams representing 13 schools took part in the event, with each team consisting of two students from Classes XI and XII.
The competition provided an opportunity for students to demonstrate their mathematical abilities, quick thinking, teamwork, and competitive spirit. The participants actively engaged in the quiz rounds, showcasing their enthusiasm for mathematics and their ability to apply mathematical concepts.
The winners were honoured with cash prizes of ₹2,000 for first place and ₹1,500 for second place, along with certificates and trophies in recognition of their achievements.
The event reflected the commitment of the PG and Research Department of Mathematics, GVN College, to promoting mathematical excellence, strengthening school–college academic interaction, and inspiring young learners to pursue higher studies in mathematics.
The programme concluded successfully, leaving the participants with valuable learning experiences and renewed enthusiasm for mathematical exploration.
