Awareness Programme on Cervical Cancer Prevention

The Health Club and the Department of Zoology, G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, jointly organized an Awareness Programme on Cervical Cancer Prevention on 28th August 2025 at 2:00 PM in the College Auditorium.

The resource person, Dr. P. Krishnaveni, M.S (OG), Consultant, Sri Krishna Hospital, Sattur & Porunai Hospital, Tirunelveli, addressed the gathering and highlighted the importance of early detection, preventive measures, and lifestyle practices to reduce the risk of cervical cancer.

The session provided valuable insights to students and faculty members, creating awareness on women’s health and emphasizing the need for regular medical check-ups and preventive care.

Vinayagar Chathurthi Celebration

G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, celebrated Vinayagar Chathurthi with devotion and enthusiasm on 26th August 2025. The celebration included traditional rituals, prayers organized by the students and staff.

The programme created a spiritual atmosphere on the campus and highlighted the importance of faith, unity, and cultural heritage. Students actively participated, making the event memorable and meaningful.

The Department of English (Aided), G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, organized a special motivational session on Mental Health and Hygiene for all the first-year students on 23rd August 2025.

The session focused on creating awareness about the importance of mental well-being and personal hygiene in leading a balanced and healthy life. It motivated students to adopt positive practices, overcome stress, and maintain a holistic lifestyle.

The programme was well-received by the students and served as an enriching experience, encouraging them to prioritize both mental and physical health in their academic journey.

GVNC - 79th Independence Day Celebration - 15.08.2025

 79th Independence Day Celebration at G.Venkataswamy Naidu College

The Department of Physical Education, G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, organized the 79th Independence Day Celebration on Friday, 15th August 2025 at 9:00 AM in the Aided Campus.

The celebration was presided over by Dr. P. Mahendran, Secretary, Dr. M. Subbulakshmi, Principal i/c, and Dr. B. Makeshkumar, Director (SFC). The programme included the hoisting of the national flag, patriotic addresses, and cultural performances by students, which highlighted the values of freedom, unity, and national pride. The Linguaholic Forum of the College honoured the winners who participated in the Talent Show - Inter departmtal Speech competition.  

The event concluded with a vote of thanks, leaving the participants inspired with the spirit of patriotism and responsibility towards the nation.

 G. Venkataswamy Naidu College, Kovilpatti, proudly celebrated Founder’s Day 2025 in honour of our esteemed founder, Shri G. Kuppuswamy Naidu. The event paid tribute to his vision, values, and lasting contribution to education and society. It was a day of gratitude, inspiration, and renewed commitment to academic excellence.

GVNC - The Department of English (Aided) The LinguaHolic Forum Presents: VOICES OF FREEDOM – A Talent Show - 08.08.2025

The Department of English (Aided), under the banner of The Linguaholic Forum, organized "Voices of Freedom", an inter-department Public Speaking and Verse Writing competition on 08.08.2025 at Meeting Hall 60, as part of the Independence Day celebrations at G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti.

The event began with the Prayer Song and Tamil Thai Vazhthu, followed by a warm Welcome Address by Ms. V. Devika, Assistant Professor of English. Our principal, Dr. M. Subbulakshmi, delivered the presidential address, while Dr. B. Makeshkumar, the director, offered his felicitations. The programme concluded with the vote of thanks by Dr. R. Saravana Selvakumar, Head of the Department of English (aided). More than 60 students participated in the competitions.

The forum provided a vibrant platform for students to showcase their oratory and poetic talents while reflecting on themes of freedom and patriotism.
