CSRS - Mega Free Eye Camp - 08.03.2026
As part of the Diamond Jubilee celebrations, G. Venkataswamy Naidu College (Autonomous), Kovilpatti, under the College Social Responsibility Scheme (CSRS), organized a Mega Free Eye Camp on 08 March 2026 at the Sri N. Damotharan Memorial Auditorium (SF Campus) in collaboration with Aravind Eye Hospital, Kovilpatti and the Thoothukudi District Blindness Control Society.
The camp was conducted by Dr. Aaba V. Raj and his medical team from Aravind Eye Hospital. More than 120 people from the college and surrounding community benefited from free eye screening and consultation. During the camp, 21 patients identified with cataract were referred to Aravind Eye Hospital for free cataract surgery.
The programme was successfully organized by the CSRS Coordinators, Dr. R. Saravana Selvakumar (Assistant Professor of English) and Mr. V. Sivaramasubbu (Assistant Professor of Electronics) with the support of faculty members and student volunteers.
The initiative reflects the college’s commitment to community service, healthcare awareness, and social responsibility.
